Learn how to create a fantastic artwork that you can proudly display to family and friends or sell

in a gallery or art show. Beginners to intermediate.

Classes are $30 weekly (payable in monthly blocks) for 2.5 hours which includes morning tea/coffee and biscuits.

(Art materials are not included) A materials list can be provided for whatever medium you choose to use to work in

and advice given on the best retail outlets to buy from.

Jindalee Art Classes - Weekly classes of 8 to 10 students are held between 9:30am and 12:00 noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Venue - Jindalee Girl Guide Hall, 44 Goggs Road Jindalee.

Coorparoo Art Classes - Weekly classes of 8 to 10 students are held between 10:00am and 12:30 pm on Wednesdays.

Venue - Coorparoo Presbyterian Church Hall, Emlyn Street, Coorparoo.

Students may choose to work in pastel or acrylic paint and will be given tips on how best to sketch their subject using photos as a reference and technical advice on how to get the best out of the medium they have chosen to produce their artwork. Classes are small 8 to 10 students ensuring you receive one on one attention as you learn at your own pace.

You will learn many different skills as well as learning about;

• Materials required to produce a finished painting.
• Basic Drawing principles and the grid method of layout and enlarging from a photograph or sketch.
• Composition
• Focal point and The Law of Thirds
• Basic Colour Theory and the Colour Wheel.
• Shape, Tone and Negative space 
• Layering and Blending.
• Perspective and the Vanishing point.
• Light source; shadows and reflection.
•  Finishing and framing. 

Suggested first artwork- A portrait of your own pet or a favourite animal.

Just bring in a favourite photo or two of your special friend and be shown how to create a portrait in easy step by step lessons.

Animal and pet portraiture is my specialty but I also specialize in water scenes with boats, waves and beaches so you may like to have fun with this also!.
