Pastel Portrait Prices

 

Sizes start at 30x40cm at only $400.00 AUD unframed for a single pet; pastel; plain background; head and shoulders portrait.  
For professional framing (which I can arrange) add @ $130 AUD.

Pastel portraits are created on Colourfix pastel papers of archival quality.  The pastels used are artist quality Rembrandt, Schmincke and Art Spectrum.  A simple portrait background is recommended as the best way to focus on your pet.  Once framed behind protective glass a pastel will last for generations.
 
 

Oil Painting Prices

 
Sizes start at 40x30cm at only $600.00 AUD unframed for a single pet; oil; plain background; head and shoulders portrait.

Oil portraits are painted on different stretched canvas types depending on whether you want an unframed contemporary look or a framed more conventional look.
 
Gallery Style stretched canvas is about 35mm deep and does not need framing.
 
Slimline Style stretched canvas is about 18mm deep and is recommended if you want to have your portrait framed because the framer will be able to offer you a wider selection of styles to choose from.
 
Both canvas styles are the same price.  A simple portrait background is recommended as the best way to focus on your pet.
 
 

Framing

 
Where practical I usually recommend that I arrange framing so that the portrait may be hung and enjoyed immediately.
Framing is done by a professional framer. Pastels are framed with with double matt board and plain glass. (Unless otherwise specified by the client). You may see examples on my Framing page. Oils may be framed but do not need to be framed behind glass.
 
If appropriate a quote for packaging and post will be obtained.
 
I use only the highest quality archival materials in creating my portraits.
 
A non-refundable deposit is required before work commences. Portrait remains the property of Sally McLean Artist until full price is received and cleared.
