Welcome to Pet Portraits by Sally McLean

A Pet Portrait is a special gift which will always be treasured and is a unique way of saying I love you. Maybe your special pet is getting older and may not be around much longer and you would like to remember them forever. Your pet probably means so much to you that you just want to celebrate their life in some way.

Your beloved pet can be captured and immortalised forever in a pet portrait. Just commission me to paint your pet or learn how to use your creative side and paint your own pet in one of my ART CLASSES!

See my article "The Art of Using Colour" in the September 2011 issue of Australian Artist!

Why Get A Pet Portrait?

Our precious pets do not have a lifespan as long as ours so there will come a time when we will miss them. A portrait means your loyal friend and companion will outlast you and future generations.

Portrait Vs Photograph

As an artist I am able to add or remove any feature as I paint your portrait.

Where a photograph fades and becomes damaged by its environment over time, pastel artworks from the 16th century still exist today as fresh as the day they were painted and oil paintings have endured since the early 15th century.

Hello! I’m Sally McLean and most of my portrait commissions are for people who love their pets as parents love their children.

A lifelike pet portrait ensures you may enjoy your best friend and companion forever and is a beautiful piece of artwork that you can proudly display to friends and family in your home!  A pet portrait also makes a unique and wonderful gift for that special person for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christmas, Valentines Day, Mothers Day or Fathers Day.  Gift Certificates are available for short deadlines.

Having your pet immortalised is an easy 4 step process:

  1. Photograph your pet.

  2. email or post your favourite pet photograph to me.
  3.
  4. We will then discuss exactly how you would like your pet portrait to look.
  5. You pay deposit and I paint your pet’s portrait. Read more about the Portraits That Bite Complete Experience!

Pet owners who have followed my easy 4 step process have received their pet portrait in less than three weeks.

I have been creating pet portraits since 2005 and in this time I have brought joy to the lives of many pet owners. Read testimonials from happy clients like Rebecca Tedder of Melbourne who said

"Sally. When you sent me a work in progress of my beautiful Ruby Tuesday it brought tears to my eyes. Thankyou so much for catching her beauty and her spark so intricately. You have done an amazing job of my darling girl."
